Being one with nature has never been more beautiful. This 1417 acres of land near Chain O' Lakes are truly Eden to the nature and hiking enthusiast. The park itself is open from 6am to 11pm year round with a wide variety of camping options. Hartman Creek includes dozens of walking as well as biking trails to explore and conquer. This majestic park also includes a variety of gorgeous lakes. In the summer Hartman Lake Beach Concession even offers boat, bike, and camping gear rentals for those spur of the moment adventures.
Hartman Creek State Park is even a part of the Wisconsin Explorer Program which encourages young kids (ages 3-9 and up) to explore the outdoors through various available booklets and patches. The booklets include activities such as scavenger hunts, games, hikes and crafts all done outdoors and even as a family. The booklets, "Exploring to the Extremes", are available in most Wisconsin state parks and badges are acquired upon completing the requirements. The best part of all the booklets are free. Overall the program is great way to explore the fullness that state parks, especially Hartman Creek, have to offer. They work well for long camping trips as well as single visits.
Tucked away in this beautiful park is also part of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Sculpted by glaciers long ago, this trail leads people through some of the most beautiful scenery nature has to offer. The trail itself is a thousand miles long, contained completely within Wisconsin, and is one of only eleven National Scenic Trails. Hartman Creek itself also offers glacial landscape bike paths for those craving a little more excitement. Hartman Creek also features various levels of bike trails for those just beginning to the terrain biking veteran.
